Care instructions for your fly rod

Dry your rod by wiping it with a soft cloth rag after use, before
storing it
in the rod bag or rod tube.

Never store a wet rod for a long time in any container.

Do not expose the fly rod to any heat sources or direct sunlight (e.g.
in the car)
for an extended period of time, since the varnish or glue
might soften.

If the rod is not used for a long time, store it in a hanging position
in the rod bag
or standing in the open rod tube.

For rod assembly hold parts next to the ferrules, align rings and fit
parts straight.
Avoid turning movements!

Do not turn any parts while assembling or disassembling the rod.
A turning
movement trigger extreme stress on the splices
and may cause the rod
to break.

On and off ferrules should be cleaned from dust and grime.
Do not use
any type of grease for cleaning or polishing.

Check the rod for damages in the varnish. Any damages should
be repaired
immediately to prevent moisture entering the rod.
How
to play fish with your fly rod
The tapered make of a fly rod ensures its flexibility and even distribution of the load created by
a fish across the rod, provided it is handled properly. While playing a fish, pointing the rod
away from the fish will create a maximum stress on the tip of the rod, its weakest part,
whereas pointing it directly at the fish will not put any load on the rod.
Therefore, an angler should try and find that optimal angle where the rod still has some flex
and the load is distributed evenly across the rod. Always keep in mind that putting too much load
on the rod and its tip in particular may cause damage to the rod or even break it.
While landing the fish turn the hand that is holding the rod backwards.
This way you can avoid to over stretch the rod.
